Mudding with a sport atv
#1
i just got my 300ex stuck for the first time and i was wondering how i could keep this from happining. The type of ground was pitch black mud with a puddle 1 acre wide that was about 1 foot deep or water. I finally managed to get it out with my handy reverse but how do i keep this from happinig next time.

I went mudding with mine a couple weeks ago, my advice, punch the throttle and avoid ruts, first rut you come across, start looking for someone to pull you out. And definately more aggressive tires, I had my stockers on, I didnt think they did to bad considering that they are half worn. But I would still rather have some Holeshots on, like I had on my old Mojave, they always did really good in the mud.

I dont know this is an acre of the darkest and deepest mud you could possibly see its had water in it for at least 3 months and is blacker then you could imagine the only way i got out is cause i was only 10 feet into it but i was going only in 2nd gear. still my neighbors 700 couldnt even make it through this

Well dude as far as going muddin with a 300ex.The only answer is to get more aggresive tires.I have razr's on mine. The idiot at the tire shop that installed them put them on in reverse direction!Mine do really well in mud.I have been stuck bad enough where I had to use a giant chain hoist to pull it out.
There is a hole in my woods that is pretty deep.Probably only 30 foot long and 10 feet across. It is deep enough to have my 300ex cover to mud even with the tops off the rear fenders.(that is even not titled backwards!)U can make it across if U hit it in 3rd gear lean back and kind just make a giant splash right through it.
Momentum is key in riding in mud.U stop and U are probably stuck.I ussually just rock the bike back and forth and do whatever is nessicarry to keep the going forward(or backward)Even if that means standing off to the side and pushing.(just try to keep your feet out of the tires)
As for tires I am not sure what kind are best.I have had blackwaters on a timberwolf.I only got stuck once and I think a 28 inch outlaw equipped 650 praire would have gotten stuck to.But my freind has blackwaters on his trailblazer and there not to great in the mud. They turn into slicks.I think on a 4-stroke where the tire won't be accelerating they are fine.I know a tire has to be cleaned out.So I am not sure what there deal is.
