OK Honda, people are really getting tired of waiting! Even the ATV magazine editors are asking for something. There recent April fools joke, was actually a dream to most of us! A tripple cylinder 105 hp quad. All of my friends have now sold there 400exs for either raptors, Cannondales, DS 650's or 250r's. Is Honda truely loosing its edge? Do they even care any more?

I keep telling you all...

2003 Honda 600(not 650, 600, too much weight is bad handling)ex 12 inches of travel FRONT and REAR, 6-speed manual clutch, electric start, reverse, pep shocks front and rear, 6 valves

In 2003, there should be something close to this, maybe a 650ex, 10 inch travel front and rear, reverse, 5 or 6 speed whatever is better, suspention enhancments, with the same handling.

Right now, Im coming off a warrior and a 100cc 2stroke dirtbike that just has no power! I could REALLY use a 400ex, and I wouldnt even need most of all its great features, I wouldnt need reverse, I would love the 400cc's of torque and low end, and the travel seems to be good for single jumps.

cctman, if Honda isn't building what you want, why won't you buy a Yamaha, Bomb or C-Dale???

These manufacturers are offering some kick-butt machines while the best Honda has is a 400ex which isn't exactly high performance; nice but medium performance at best.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Honda when you could be tearing it up on a good high performance machine.

if you want a sweet quad BUILD IT eirther out of the engine in the quad or somethin else.if honda does come out with something it will be a 650 class quad with a weak 38hp or so like the raptor and ds and it'll handle well most likely. however i hate this big bore class stuff it's just for macho newbie's comein off there street bike's that wanna say they have a 650/660cc quad.i don't know about you guy's but im not planning any long road trips with my quad.unlike the world of blacktop we don't need a huge engine those are to keep up rpm's and hold up a high speed a 400 class quad can put out all the power you'll ever need and the smaller the engine the better the overall powerband which is what were really after for raceing trail and woods but with this wole bigger is better thing goin on we'll keep getting heavy deduned big bore trail bike engines in our quads.i know that's what honda is working on if you want a light fast 4 stroke thats not gonna cost 8 grand get a 250x or a 300ex port it put in a race cam wiseco piston and a carb with some shock's and call it a day.

I am so sick of this crap. Everyone bashes the 400EX and Honda for not havign the best anymore, Well dam lets think wya back to 99' who was on the top of the list.....the 400EX! everyone bragged and went on and on about how great it was, Then 2 years later Yahama finaly comes out with something that will kind of compete. Now you want Honda to instantly build something to take the top position again, it takes time! Do you want Honda to release a quad liek the 01' Raptor and have the Axle's snap, the tannies blow, and the front shocks to fall off? Of course not! Just give Honda time so they can do some R&D and rise to the top again. Look at the Z400 It's taken years to make, I didn't here anyone constantly whinning that Suzuki didn't have anything to compete with the 400EX. Just stop your complaining and WAIT! In the 80's Honda Dominated banshees with 250R's. The 300EX was and stil is beating the Warrior everywhere except for top speed, now the 400EX is Dominating the Raptor where it counts. (to me atleast) No Doubt Yamaha can build a great straight line quad but thats it. Sorry to offend anyone but those are my thoughts.

CCTMAN, what a moron you sound like.
What do you think the grids are filled with, FAKE sport quads?

Take your banshee to a track with some fake sport quads, and get trounced.

Dude don't take your frustration out on me! Just because you probably bought a brand new 400ex and had to spend a fortune to get it to run with the DS and new Raptor, ain't my fault. As far as I see it and I can speak being that I owned a 400ex for 2 months and then figured out that the 250r was a better way to go so sold it. I now easily own a banshee which will trounce both my old 400ex and my moded R. You guys must seriously be narrow minded, if you think that the race world revolves around doing cicles around trees in the woods. My days of woods riding are far and beyond. Once you spend some time on the dunes and open desert there is no turning back. Good Luck spending a fortune on your 400ex's if you think you can catch the heavy moded Bombs and Raptors. Don't kid yourself. As far as the 400exs on the starting line at the national events. Hmm .... IF I remember right I do remember seeing 250rs still winning the national events not 400exs. The 400ex is more of a mild learn to race bike. The 400ex should have never been released with the lack of power that it came with. The manufactures were lacking ***** to boost the power of the engine for fear of being in a law suit again, and now they are getting trounced in the hp department. If you cant play with the big boys then go home! As far as the supposed 650ex or 600ex I'm there if they do, but untill then week by week, they loose another sale or two.

PS ...
Oh yeah if Honda was on top in 99, then how come I sold my brand new 400ex after just 2 months of owning it. Oh yeah and my friends all got rid of theres too for either moded 250r's or banshees by the end of that same year. Go figure!

Oh thats right cctman they still make 250R's.......oh wait no they don't. I am talking about quads that are still made today. I have a 250R cause don't like 4 strokes of today. I Don't ride with Raptors cause not too many people are big raptor fans around here, and I don't ride in wide enough areas for the DS to strut it stuff, So where I ride I whoop everyone on my 250R and so would a 400EX. You have talk about modded Raptors but I don't have any areas around here were you can go over 75 so I am not worried about them.
