i have a problem, i just bought this near mint 1986 honda atc 350x and it runs really strong. but when i give it gas it feels like it has a throttle stop. but there isnt any. and if you put a lot more effort in to it it will take off. it doest it at about mid throttle. i could not figure it out. any help would be much appreciated. and i just took off the brass plate at the top of the carb nothing was clogged and the plastic cover on the side there was a little dirt in it but nothing to bad.? i dont have a clue and it is bugging the hell out of me. thanks again for any replys.

Sounds like maybe the throttle cable is binding. Take the cable loose from the carburetor and take the 3 screws that hold the throttle housing cap on.

Push the throttle and see if it's going the entire travel until the arm in the the throttle housing reaches it's limit. Then look at the carburetor end of the cable to see if it's bottomed out. There is a possibility that your cable has a kink within the cable housing somewhere if this doesn't work.
