Big tires will not hurt the Rubicon in any way UNLESS you treat it wrong. You MUST be in low whenever there is any sort of strain on the engine.

I live in Tucson (where its very hot) and we're very tight with our Honda shop. They tell me that the Rubicons in Mexico are frying trannies because they are using 20-40 or 20-50 oil. Honda is recommending ONLY 10-40 oil. They also said that of the two trannie failures their shop has seen one was an idiot/pinhead using automotive oil and the other was a warranty problem. I read earlier that some kid in Phoenix had overheating problems with really big 589's. Turned out he hadnt changed his filter the last two oil changes.
Folks, read the owners manual and use the correct oil ! It's that simple !

2800 miles, 284 hours, not a single problem with the tranny, other then the monitor would blink and not tell me what gear i was in, but i fixed it, what was wrong was that the plug that plugs into thee fuse box above the trunk was loose, but other then that, the best machine ive ever ridden.
