When you get these two side by side, what really is the difference? I know that when the 250ex came out in '01 that it had a different cam setup. I'm pretty sure that the '02 Recon got the exact same engine mods as the 250ex. Is that correct?

Other than the obvious (plastic and racks), anything else different like suspension travel or brakes?

The engines are the same and you are correct.
The 250EX might have a slightly wider track and it does have disk brakes up front.

Less the racks and all, the 250EX is 50 lbs. lighter. Plus, the difference in tires, makes them handle somewhat differently!!
