a quad better than the 250R....

i know what you mean quad junky, and i'm not disagreeing, i'm just saying they haven't yet, but like you, i'm sure they will, and 14mins, you're right about the reliabiliey issue, i had a tecate-4 that was awesome, i mean it hauled, BUT, i had to go thru the motor good, and the guy that had it b4 me replaced all the bearings and bushings in it. personally, i think that the 250R is prolly the best, after it's been gone thru and done right. and yea, it'll prolly cost as much as a new quad, but if you gotta bore out your engine and upgrade your chassis anyway, you'd be replacing all the worn stuff then anyway, and the R would actually be cheaper, cause you could buy one for about 3000, instead of a raptor for 6000, but i get where you're coming from, and i agree with you too, i just like the R's, and the whole point of this post was to see if there was a better mx quad out there, and yall are doin a good job of provin that there just might be a better alternative. thanx for all your replies guys.

heres my alternative to the R. the best motocross quad out there is whatever you want it to be as far as i'm concerned.i think my tecate 4 is the best cause it's mine thats what i like thats what i race .but don't get me wrong here i'm not saying that it's better then anyones else's machine i'm saying it's the best for me.and thats all that counts.

Right NOW there is NO BETTER and even your aftermarket bikes have a 250R based frame with just another motor transplanted in it for power. Also by them making these little changes they end up F---ing up the original setup and there 4, there not as good as the original......
Rath's KTM: 250R
Doug Gusts 426: 87' 250R
Tim Farrs 460: 88' 250R
Lonestar is making several motor design chassis using the 400ex now for 2003.
BUT NONE ARE BETTER YET.....
