i used to be able to got from 1st to 2nd and then to 3rd on my 300ex, anything higher and I always flipped it backwards and you are goin kinda fast shifting to 4th..........ouch! Anyway the trick is "be smooth", find your balance point and a place in the powerband to shift where you can pick it up in the next gear about the same place. What I mean is don't get up in first and try to go to second fully wound out and dumping the clutch.
Basicly it boils down to trial and error for you and your butt. I know people that can go 1-6 on there R or banshee, now that is skill, you probably have the best wheelie bike made, besides maybe the 400, so if you are gonna get it, it will be on the 300.

Unless you like paying a ton of $$ for a new tranny, bending a fork, ect. USE THE CLUTCH. If you can't do it w/o the clutch don't ride wheelies. Not using the clutch is just dumb. Pulling in the clutch does not ruin your wheelie, If you have balance you don't need to relie on the motor to hold you up for a second it takes to pull in the clutch. 1-5 is fairly easy on a 300EX usuing the clutch.
PS I hope your not using the clutch to start your wheelie, alot of clutch dumping is not a good thing.

Do like I do on my ATC250R or YZ426. Just put it in 5th gear, low rpm, and pull up a wheelie and ride it for as long as the power will let you. You don't have to worry about flipping this way, as you are doing a power wheelie. It's gets a little hairy on the bike when you drop the front wheel back down at 75+mph. Guys who can ride a good "balance" wheelie can run a machine through the full gear set and never bring it down using the clutch or not.

If you HAVE to ask a question like this, maybe you aren't ready to be riding multiple gear wheelies.... And, I agree with Killer250R, USE your CLUTCH! If you think it kills your wheelie, Its because you don't have the front end high enough anyway, So go Back to Wheelie School chumps!!

Trust me my front end is high enough, any higher and i'll flip. Not using the clutch is no big deal. The ex's tranny can handle a few power shifts. I never tried to use the clutch during wheelies but not using it is pretty smoothe. Maybe i'll try using it to see what it is like, but don't worry about screwing up your tranny with a few power shifts.
