I own a 650, and I'm telling you guys, in a short drag, the 650 would be REALLY hard to beat. A buddy of mine has a 700P, and I eat him off the line every time. With the cvt tranny, the motor stays in the powerband most of the time when you are at WOT. Also, you have to remember that a 300 or 400ex is going to get a lot of wheelspin off the start, whereas these big utility brutes just hook up and take off. I'd like to get a 650 and a 400 together and give it a whirl. Don't underestimate the power of the big V-twin guys!!!! If you haven't ridden one, try it. It'll blow you away

<< Damn, that makes the 400ex sound like a POS. >>

You obviously don't know what your talking about, you thought the 300EX would beat it. And as for your post about it weighs more therefore it's slower makes no scene, POWER plays a big factor there. Cars are heavier then quads, they must be faster huh? As for the 400EX being a POS you must not get it, the 400EX was built for Jumping, Handling, MX track, stuff like that it wasn't made to go fast in a straight line, If you want that get a yamaha. The prarie was built to haul @$$ and haul a heavy load.

Man you are stupid. Did I say the 400EX was a piece of ****?? hell no.
Just gotta try to start an arguement with someone dont ya? Didn't I say "I stand corrected"? Like canadian said dont ya think the viper will kill the semi?? Or no it weighs more it MUST BE FASTER? And I dont think a top speed of 50 mph is hauling ****. I said that the big utility beating a sport quad in a drag SOUNDS BAD!!

And about me having a quad, can you read my signature?? I CANT FIND AN R!

As a witness to this drag racing scene, I can say that the 650 would pull away from a piped EX every time. The drag strip was only a good 50yds. before everyone had to apply brakes, but the kawi, would have a good lead...not to say that it is faster though...because the honda was closing fast!!

I think it would be close the 650's are very impressive. I pulled a wheelie on my buddies 650 and it had 27 inch dirt devils and a winch. Kinda scared me doing a wheelie on a machince that big.
