$5400 sounds like a good deal. I paid $5500 2 weeks ago and was happy with the price. Its a great machine. The things I did so far where buy the service manual at Helminc.com for $40, 10 oil filters from servicehonda.com for $40. Autozone also has a special on the Mobil 1 10W-40 synthetic motorcycle oil(buy 5 get 1 free). I will use this after break-in.

Buy the thing and enjoy. I have a 99 450-ES and after looking at all of the other Honda ATV's the 450 Forman-ES is still my choice. It's the best machine on the market. Do yourself a favor and use the Honda Systhetic oil. It's specailly engineered for the ATV and if you use any other oil it may very well terminate your warrenty.

I wouldn't worry to much about the oil or the warranty. I use castrol gtx 20/50 in my 2002 Foreman ES. The reason I do is the Honda dealer I bought the machine from told me to. It's the only oil he keeps in his shop. By the way, I love my Foreman.

I added 26" Dirt Devil tires to my '98 when the originals wore out at 2K miles. 6 ply, very tough, great in dirt, mud, snow, rocks. A little more ground clearance and top speed, and a wider track than with the stockers. They work fine with the stock suspension, as well. A better air filter is a must on all my combustion engines, with K&N probably the best and Uni along with other double foams being good also. Make sure your dealer jetted your machine for the elevations you'll be riding. The Foreman is tough to beat for reliability, traction, and work capacity. Enjoy!
