Rancher Specs -- Correct ???
#1
Greetings,
I am considering adding a Rancher 2X4 to my stable and a key concern is getting it on my 6X12 trailer along with my 450ES. I checked the specs on the websites and in Dirt Wheels and they both say the Ranger is 78.1" long and 45" wide.
I can't believe this -- the 450ES is only 77.2" long and 45.5" wide. Just looking at them, the ranch has to be smaller, not larger. Does anyone know the actual length of the Rancher or, if you have one, would you run out back and measure it and then let us know?
Thanks,
Rod

It's ture, the Rancher is longer (78.1") compared to the Foreman (77.2").
The big thing about getting a quad on a tailer is the wheel base and maybe the tire size, the Rancher dose have a shorter wheel base (49.1") compared the Foreman (50.0") and the Foreman has bigger tires 25" compared to 24" on the Rancher.
So bottom line the Rancher will fit on the tailer but the plastice will stick out .9 of a inch more.

Greetings,
When you say it will fit, do you mean horizontally with a bit of plastic hanging over the side rails or end to end down the center?
Actually, given the reality of these dimensions, I'll probably take the trailer to the dealer and see how they fit on it together. I really wanted a smaller trailer but I also wanted to haul two at a time on occaisions. The 6x12 seemed to be the best-fit option -- what a bummer if it doesn't work out.
Thanks,
Rod

the Rancher will fit on the tailer the same way your Foreman 450 dose, but the Rancher plastice is about an inch longer. That inch shouldn't make too much difference, but it may.
Like you said you may want to take your tailer down to the dealer and see which is best to get both ATV's on it. You should get both on your tailer with no trouble, but check it out to make sure.
Hope I've helped a little.

I purchased a 6x12 a couple of weeks ago. To my amazement I was able to get my Rancher & my wifes Recon to fit on the trailer going long ways but just barely. The plastic hangs off of the front. The 450 is bigger than the Recon, You will definetly have some plastic hanging over.
