I wonder if those engines came from Freddie Spencer's dealership in Shreveport. We bought a couple of ATVs and a motorcycle from them many years ago when we lived just south of Shreveport.

Freddie Spencer was a big name in superbike racing at the time and his dealership was the only Honda dealership in Shreveport. I believe I am correct on that. As a kid, I loved to visit there when I could.

Your story was great, but it broke my heart about those discarded 350X and 250R parts, not to mention the ruined frames.

 

It would have been a sad sight indeed.

This took place at one of Honda's warehouses which was located in Shreveport. It wasn't at a dealership.

Honda owns and rents buildings all across the U.S. to store ATVs and Motorcycles so that delivery time to the dealers within that region is much quicker than if all of them came from the same place.

Since Honda opened it's plant in North Carolina, there aren't as many located in the South, but there are a few, and they change locations as well from time to time.

All the other manufacturers do this as well.
