upcoming Gas Gas 300 and 400 sport quads

I know this is the Honda forum, but most people come here and will find this interesting...
I found this while surfing a dirtbike web-site:
http://www.motorcycledaily.com/29may02gasgas.html
In the second paragraph it mentions the release of 300 & 400cc displacement ATVs into the US market... I'd rather have their two-stroke, but I think that this is cool anyways...

They are supposed to be coming soon, but its up in the air as to when. Right now, getting anything Gas Gas is impossible, whether its parts, bikes, or quads. This is due to a change in importer. Gas Gas stuff was being imported by a private company out of Mississippi, but the parent company decided it wanted to establish its own factory import division in Florida. Unfortunately, they still had a valid contract with the company in Miss and its still tied up in court. It is supposed to be resolved soon. After that happens, then we'll see the quads.

The company you are referring to here in Mississippi is ran by Nolan Knight.
He has had MANY franchises over the past 15 years as a dealer and all have been taken away at some point due to the way he does business. I'm not saying that he's a crook......Let's just say that he doesn't pay his bills in an orderly fashion and spends more time traveling than is neccessary.
I know this because we supplied many of the parts for their race teams in years past before it was all over with.....we got stuck with unpaid bills.[Still hasn't paid] We aren't ones to go running and sue people...so we just let him be.
GasGas just figured out that the guy wasn't in their best interest..so they decided to handle things themselves. Can't blame them. Everyone down here was shocked to learn that GasGas did business with him after his prior history in the industry. We were told that GasGas didn't check up on him at all and took his word....LOL
Knight is planning on releasing his own line of motorcycles and ATVs as early as Spring 2003. They will be built in China under contract of Knight Enterprises. First wave are mini bikers and mini ATVs with Enduro bikes and midsize ATVs coming a year later.
My gut feeling says it wont make it past the first wave.....LOL

I wasn't aware of Nolan's past! I know if you go to his old Gas Gas website, it re-directs you to Husaberg's website (sorry, no quads, bikes only). About 2 months ago, I called them about the GG quads and that's when I found out about the importer deal.
