MOJAVE02, This is crazy. The time we have used talking about jetting, you could have jetted the bike 20 times. Something smells funny!

 

I put a MegaMax and K&N on the 00 Recon (older engine), and it REALLY made a noticeable difference!! However, the same mods on the 250EX, didn't do so much. My point is, the 02 Recon has the same engine as the EX. I think Honda milked all it can form this power plant in stock form on the EX and 02 Recon. So the mods might not give you as much as you are hoping for???

Without a rejet, you are coutring disaster from a lean engine.

 

listen i am only 14 years old, and my friend with the recon is only 12. i can rejet it for him without a problem. all i asked was if it was absolutely necessary to rejet, and the answer was yes because the recons are already to lean from the factory. so if he ends up going with the pipe i will make sure we change the filter and do the airbox mods suggested, and i will rejet it for him. thank you for all the help.
