INSTALLED! Warn 424 Select on a Honda TRX300FW!
#1
I purchased and finally finished installing the Warn 424 Select (Part #WRN-62624) on my 1996 Honda TRX300FW. Took me awhile due to my time, but well worth it! When I purchased this unit (Warn), I was "well, let's see if this thing really works". IT SURE DOES WORK! I purchased my Honda 300 4X4 new in 1996. I was not impressed by the full time four wheel drive, AND the HARD steering. So, anyway...after installing the Warn 424, oh what a difference. I can actually steer my Honda without breaking my arms. The Warn also gave me a tighter turning radius in the two wheel drive mode. Any problems? Well no, just time and if you have this same model Honda (discontinued in 2000), I highly recommend the Warn unit. Oh, do not forget to drain the front differential and transfer case if you have this model or you will have lots of oil on the garage floor. Besides, it was time to replace the oil anyway. The only advice on installation, is to mount the Select ****/Bracket right the first time to make sure no part of the steering handle bars/housing hits the Select mounting plate or ****. You will notice in one of the two pictures, I mounted the Select **** bracket backwards to allow clearance from the steering housing. I cannot say enough about this great Warn unit, but in 2WD, I can fishtail the back end, steering is MUCH lighter, tighter turning radius, and will save front end/tire wear. If you have any questions, please email me at kech22@prodigy.net. I will now order one of these Warn 424 Select units for my 2001 Rubicon. Hope this info helps.

I want to put one on my Rubicon also. Where did you find one for $262?
I can't find one for less than $298. I realize the Rubicon and 300 are very different but was wondering if it was easy to do or if there is anything helpful you learned that may apply to the Rubicon. Thanks for posting your info.
