That is a NICE motor.

LOL,yeah I tried that it don't work. But I think it would be totally awesome to take a 2-stroke motor out of the frame start it and see how it works,if there is a way to do that.

There is a way. Trust me. My motor is sitting on a shelf in the shop, and the frame is outside.

It seems to me like it is a miracle that there are any 250R's left. They are getting pretty old now, and we all know things break with time. I see them at the track all the time and I remember the one I had almost 9 years ago, and it was already in rough shape by the time I resurrected it.

I think one problem you could be having is that when you do so much work on a quad you miss the little things that add up to big things. It is easy to do. It happens to me from time to time for a number of reasons. One reason is I always want to ride and I tend to wrench with the motivation of riding soon. Another big reason is racing I hate to miss out on points and sometimes I just force things to happen in a time frame they can't and then act suprised that I missed something.

Now, that my 400EX is mostly sold out I will concentrate on building my new quad. Which I have already set a ridiculous completion date of the end of July.

To answer your question, yes I see plenty of people having problems with R's some like yourself are having alot of problems, and it is my opinion that alot of it coming from their own mistakes.

adam, thanks for the reply. I know what you mean about the ride motivation. When I got it back together back in March, I was wanting to ride it so badly that I forgot to tighten the front sprocket bolt up to spec, and it broke the chain. Case saver caught it, but I was out of a chain for a week. That's when I realized that I need to slow down, and 2nd or 3rd check everything. Before my race(when the cable broke), I spent a good 4 hours going over EVERYTHING. I even dropped the swingarm to check the bearings.

I also don't know what could be causing this problem. The guy that had it before me cut the lower motor mounts off, and I don't run the headstay, so it's only got 2 mounts holding the motor in. Yes, I'm sure that's another reason the motor wiggles so much.
