i hope honda makes this crf450 just to shut you the fvck up!! a 440 big bore kit will likey bring it up to the cost of a new cannondale! the EX isn't a dune machine, never was, and never will be. but on the track and in the woods it's lethal!!

A friend of mine got a IMS 440ex kit w/ WB cam, and rev box and it cost him $800 (he did all the work and had the sleeve sent to LA Sleeve). He also has a Yosh exhaust that cost him like $500 + so actually that puts him just over a new one... It puts him about $600 over what I paid (his front bumper is about 2 feet farther than my front bumper in a drag race, even and I wheelied really bad at the start) and for $200 I could get a HMF exhaust and Moto remapping and then I'll be faster than him again.
If a 450ex came out, it wouldn't put out more than 35 HP.
Don't get so pissed off at me... ****, I don't have anything against anyone that rides Honda's, or any other brand. I just don't like the company. Why should I like a company that thinks quad racing is a joke, and doesn't take us seriously. I would feel the same way about a person that thought that way.

Oh, I almost forgot. I know a guy that had his motor work done for him (like most people do) and his 440 kit, porting and polishing, and cam, and motor work cost him $1500! and then the price of his Sparks racing pipe puts him way over the cost of a new Cannibal.
Dang RINCON... what happened to "There's nothing wrong with stating your opinion?" You can tell everyone what your opinion is but when I say what mine is, everyone tells me to shut the f*ck up!
That's being pretty hypocritical (sp?).

Just to clear things up yodaddy is not disliked by anyone in the Cannondale forum.
Heck if Honda does come out with a cfr450r and it puts the same power out as the dirt bike I might even get one. But,while yall are waiting I will be sporting my dale.

<< If a 450ex came out, it wouldn't put out more than 35 HP. >>
lol, have you heard of the CRF450 dirt bike?? a 2502 stroke puts out around 55 HP, so why does the 450 only make 35HP??? that's because you're mixed up with the numbers. I'm not pissed of at you, just saying that a cannondale should preform better, it costs more. and like i said the dealerships are scarce, especially in CANADA!

LOL, yes, I've heard of the CRF450. I see them in action on a weekly basis when I ride at the motocross tracks. When you put a dirtbike motor into a quad, the actual USABLE power is lower than what it would be in the bike. Also, my main point in that sentence was that Honda will do a lot of detuning when/if the motor sits in the quad.
I believe the Raptor motor originated from a street bike engine... how much do you think it put out in the street bike? I'm willing to bet it was more than the 35 horses found in the Raptor. Yamaha detuned it for "general use", or to put it in the real terms, to avoid law suits. Honda COULD put out a 440 quad that pumps out a hefty 60 + horses if they really wanted to, but they know people will buy anything they release so they make the cheapest quad that they can so that they can "just keep us entertained."
If a 450ex is released, it won't have power close to what the dirtbike has. Apperantly 2 wheels are safer than 4, so we have to get the short end of the stick.
