I know this is a honda forum but what would be a better choice for a sport quad for someone just starting out. Ive narrowed it down to a blaster or a 300ex. im only 5'7 and 130lbs. Any help would be great.

If you are looking for something to get started on and learning to use a clutch..AND plan to upgrade soon after.....go with the Blaster. They are cheap and easy to learn the basics on because it's a simple quad.

If you plan to keep it awhile and if you think reverse is something you might need, then go with the 300EX. It's much more dependable and has a higher resale value than the Blaster.

300EX would fit you great, its got good power its got reliability. Go with the honda. I do agree with knowsalot tho if you are looking for somethingm to get started on and add mods to the blasters a good choice. They made the blaster alot sharper to!

Ill tell you what i started on a blaster and it was a perfect starting quad. Its also good to have because its easy to work on if you dont know that much about quads because everything is simple. Depending on what kind of riding you do and how long you want it. If you ride alot of high mountains and trails the 300 is a little better with its low end grunt. The blaster will get up like anything its a tuff little quad but you better stay on the gas. If you ride alot of flat ground and just want something to buzz around on get the blaster, its fast and is easy to mod with. Especially if your going new get a blaster but it all depends on what kinda riding you do. Happy quading

Our extended family had a 98 blaster for 2 years. It was ridden every weekend, spring, summer, fall, Zero problems as long as you keep the air filter clean, fresh plug every once in a while and don't let the oil run out and keep the chain adjusted.

I would go with the Blaster.

You sure get a lot for the money.

There not so slow either, completely stock.

Chet

Definetly go with a blaster. 4 months ago i got a blaster and it was my first quad. I got the thing for 2 grand and it had some mods so it wasnt to bad. It was great for the money, it taught you the basic use of a clutch and i just sold that quad a month ago. MY friends first quad was a 300ex and he wants something more already to so go with a blaster to start and then move your way up after a few months or just put a 240 kit on the thing, whatever floats your boat.
