I am looking at buying a new Rancher and would like to know what current owners think of the drum brakes.

How well do they wok?
Are they sealed well for real wet and muddy rides?
Do they need costant adjustment?

I have about 180 miles on mine and don't notice anything different, I would raither have had disc brakes.

Well, I only have 40 miles on my Rancher, no break adjustment needed yet. I ride in the mountains so the brakes get used ofter. No complaints. I haven't tried them in serious mud yet.

The same breaking system is on my 300 4 x 4 and I have never done a thing to it and it will still stop as fast as the day it was new .
