<< WELL THE RINCON'S A GREAT RIDE,AND VERY FAST.BUT IT SURE COULD USE A LOW RANGE. ****IT'S QUITE A CHORE GOING DOWN ROUGH STEEP HILLS WITH THE RINCON.****THIS IS A FACT**** YOU HAVE NO ENGINE BRAKING AT 0-8 MILES PER HR. AND THIS IS REALLY WHEN YOU NEED IT. >>

As I mentioned before, I don't know ROE personally, but I 'do' know where he rides. If the man says it's 'quite a chore' going down steep hills.........I believe him.

One of the hardest thigs to do on a quad (unless you have 'really' long arms)is to lean back as far as possible on a steep downhill with both brakes in hand. Sounds like letting off of them and seeing what the engine braking will do (normal procedure on my Sportsman) is 'not that good of an idea' with the Rincon.

Thanks, ROE, I really needed to hear it from someone who knows what 'steep' really is............

I own and ride a Rincon. I started out with the 300 in 1992 and owned several, when the 400 came out I got one of the first. Then after another 400, a 450 ES, and a Rubicon last year, now I ride the Rincon. I have engine braking going downhill, it seems to have more in 4 wheel drive than 2 wheel drive. I have no complaints about the braking, and I sure have enjoyed the ride. I Elk hunt the high country of Colorado. I run 8 miles up a steep mountain early, and return late after dark, hopefully after a successful hunt. I am looking forward to this cushy ride up and back. Good riding.
