Synthetics, because of the consistancy and high temp stability, make more sense in the Rubicon than any other bike made because of the high temp/load put on the oil from both the engine and transmission pump....Honda doesn't say anything negative about synthetics.
Something to consider when dealing with filters. They may be made in the same facility but each manufacturer has their own standards required for their products and there are some companies that use some pretty flakey filtering specs. I'd recommend sticking with the factory filters knowing Honda's specs are pretty stringent.
