Just recently on my 450ES my cooling fan no longer seems to be working. If I pull the wire off of the oil temp sensor and groud it to the frame the fan comes on. I assume this would mean that the sensor is bad. Am I correct or way off? A couple of weeks ago the engine was submerged in the creek and drowned out. I've changed the oil four times and it's cleared up, but I wonder if the water in the oil killed the sensor.

My fan comes on all the time, even if I am riding lightly. I would assume you are correct, it does sound like the temp sending unit.
