I thought about a Raptor but I'm not sure I could make the change from a 2 stroke to a 4. I do a bit of everything when it comes to riding .. mountains, trails , sand , mud , big hills , jumps and gravel pits , I don't race but I want something that handles a little better ( I can throw around ) and is more reliable than the old Zilla.

I want something reliable that I can ride hard , I always keep good maintainence on my toys but I don't know much about either quad . I owned an 87 LT250R for about 4 years and had a a blast on that thing but not quite enough power ( that's why I bought a Zilla ) but I have so many mods on my Zilla that it does not seem to be very reliable anymore (I am always fixing something). I have owned alot of honda CR 250's and 500's and always had good luck with honda so I am kind of leaning that way. I heard Banshees are a little finiky but they go a little better than the Hondas.

any input is always appriciated.

 

both great quads banshee has more power r has better handling you can get a banshee new which is a plus while rs are used good luck with your decision

we ride a lot of mountains near Rocky , Brule , Bruderhime , Vega , Cadomin , and some of the local gravel pits around here . I actually live about 35 mins. west of the city out on a farm. How about you where do you ride ? mabey we'll hook up sometime when I decide what kind of quad I'm going to buy.

 

mod for mod they are about the same. Id choose the R over a banshee anyday.

 

i dont like to buy used wheelers, but the R is awesome.

hey i sold my banshhe for a four stroke because they have more bottom end power and more reliable. if you want something to do all that better than a 2 stroke by a ds650 i see them run off and leave banshee and its four stroke and more stable than a banshee or raptor. that is going to be my next bike its bad ***. it will climb hills better than a banshee too.

 

First mod for mod the Banshee will destroy the 250R and secondly the DS better at climbing hills than a Shee what do you live on MARS?????...........The 250R is a great Mxer therefore this is why it would be a good choice for you if you can find one in decent shape at a good price.

 

Both are great quads. The 250R is a great woods machine whereas the Banshee is a great duner. In my opinion they both respond well to mods.

 

Get an R. The banshee is meant for strictly sand and dragging and there is too much maintence with 2 cyclinders meaning there will be 2 air filters, 2 carbs, and 2 exausts. The R is the best motocross quad but is a just a step lower than the shee in dragging and dunes. Jumping also definatley goes to the R. I am not sure if i am correct but i dont think you have to mix the gas on a R but you definatley do have to on a shee.
