interchange

I blew up my 300ex. Droped a valve and smashed the piston, the head is ruined. I can get the whole top-end from a 97 trx300 4x4 will they switch?

Sad to say it, but no...they will not interchange. The two engines aren't even similar.

The only top end that will bolt onto yours in the 250X. The cylinder and head are the same as the 300EX.
