There is a reason it is the best selling utility quad built today. We have been very pleased with ours and it is a blast to ride.

The red ones seem to be built better and go a little faster.

Hey,
I have 3 02 Ranchers and they do my family just fine they are a top quality machine and in my opinion I stick with honda because they very rarely need to go to the shop.. I have friends that have other models of ATV's and there machines seem to be always down. The question is for the extra cash maybe go bigger top the 450 ES because once you learn to ride and have fun the bigger is sometimes the better. I use the Rancher to plow snow and it does just fine, Great all round ATV

If you want a midsized quad get the rancher and forget the rest.

If you want bigger the Vison would be the ticket (manual ****).

I love my rancher but i need a new toy. That manual vinson nearly made me wet my pants the first time i read about it.

I now have about 1100 miles on a Rancher 2x4, manual shift model and have had no mechanical problems at all. If you are buying, it always pays to get a test drive. I would have no problem recommending the Rancher (or the Recon that I had before the Rancher). My use has been on the farm so it has seen some rough terrain. Most of my hours have been at low speeds while spraying weeds or chasing cows while most of the miles have come in 10 to 20 mile trips on gravel roads. The Rancher is very stable, has enough power, excellant traction, top speed about 53mph, has an oil cooler, and shifts nicely. I have heard the new Suzuki Eiger rides better but I have not ridden one. Just sitting on the Eiger, it seemed huge compared to the Rancher and I did not like the size as I need to ramp the ATV in & out of the pickup frequently. The only complaint I have on the Rancher is that the cold weather starting is poor.
