A bunch of dumb questions from a rookie
Had the 400ex out for it's first run, and mine, today in Taskers Gap, VA. Had a ball!!! So...now I have a bunch of stupid rookie questions, so if you would be so kind:
1) Ground wire on the trailer, can it be grounded
to the trailer, or does it need to be grounded
to the truck?
2) After the ride, how clean is good enough, my
SeaDoo gets the full treatment every time I ride
it...but water and mud...?
3 Helmets...should I store it in the house rather
than the garage?
4) OM suggests 4-6 PSI on tires, I weigh 220, is
that enough PSI for my weight?
5) Will do initial maintenance myself, how many
hours? And what to do outside of the
Manufactures recommendations
6) Caught a couple of rocks, where is the best
place to get skid plates at a reasonable price,
and what company makes the best for the buck
Many Tks

Good questions Willfulone.
1. Can ground on trailer
2. Mine is almost spotless after every ride, chain greased, filter cleaned, oil changed ever 2-5 rides.
3. Doesn't matter. Keep it dry and clean.
4. Recommended PSI is about right. 5lbs sounds like a winner.
5. What maintence are you talking about? Valve adjustment, oil filter, etc?
6. Rocky Mountain ATV
Good luck.

Agree with lonestarbanshee on everything except no. 3, I must keep my helmets outside so the chickens have some place to lay there eggs.
I mean come on a fella has to eat in the morning.

I forgot about the chickens.. I just let mine come inside. I have a nice pot system rigged up on the stove. One skillet is full of hay for nesting, with a 2" hole in the bottom cut out, dropping into a used up paper towel roll, allowing the egg to slide down into another pan, which has been altered into a funnel shape. When the egg hits this pan, it cracks, and all the liquid substance drips into another skillet, which is set on the stove, hooked up to a timer to start cooking at 7:05. Right when I get up

vlucdog
is correct I forgot about that. One of the wires for the trailer plug is the ground wire so that it is frame to frame.
