If you want a sport/utility then I would say a Recon or even better the Ozark, my cousin started out on a Recon and has no problems with controling it at all and has a blast, if you are leaning more towards sport then I would say either the 250EX, or wait for the Z250 and see how it does, and if Suzuki's latest trend continues then it will be better than the Honda.

im not sure i agree with you, there "rustyshackleford"...i got the 400EX, and i had only 3 months experience on quads at all. so maybe itll come down to what you can afford...

well, im 14, and learned to ride on a suzuki king quad. that was when i was nine. now, im getting a cannondale cannibal. if youhave experience, i would recommend something around a z or dale. if you are jsut starting out, a 4x4 should suit you nicely.

If i was u I would get a four stroke to start out with if you are getting a sport quad since they have more tourqe than a two stroke and are easy to stay on the powerband. If u can use a manual clutch any of the new high performance 4 strokes would be great they are all have very mellow easy to use power and are easy to operate. If you do not know how to use a clutch I would get a small machine like a 300ex and learn how. Manual clutches are alot more fun once you know how to use them. Then you could move up to a bigger quad. Good luck

I would think the 250 ex is perfect for a learner your age.
Its light enough to throw around (or push away from you as you wipe out) and it will hold its value,,,for when you outgrow it and upgrade.
good luck
