Question for Rincon owners
#1
I have a Foreman 450,
I'm not going for the Rubicon because it doesn't come with Traxlok in europe,
so it's going to be the Rincon sometime this coming year.
I'm a farmer, and one of the most important tasks my ATV does on the farm
is spread fertiliser, it's a drawn ground drive spreader, with a hopper that
holds about 350kilos.
The question is, my spread speed is 9-11 kph.
As the Rincon is an auto,
how happy is it pulling a medium load at this speed,
I have flat fields, steep inclines as much as 1:4,
how do you think it would handle it, transmission wise?
I don't want the engine screaming, or choking in too high a gear.
What gear does this speed equate to?
Is it going to be shifting constantly?
best wishes and thanks.

i own a rincon and its got alot of power and a good ride(best ride)..i my self traded my 2002 foreman S in on my rinny..but for the work load u need to do...my dad has a 2003 rubicon..i beat him in a drag ..but a rope between these machines..id have to say the rincon might get towed home by the old rubi..and my dealer says they dont recommend towing for the rincon....the rincon also tops out atleast 10 -15 mph faster then the rubi too..so its a really hard choice..The Rincon handles great ..better then any quad out there in my opinion..tough choice its gonna be for ya..gl

As it is in everybodys posts, this is only my opinion.
I don't know why everyone makes such a big deal over switchable 4-wd, especially for a work ATV.
When we went looking I to did not want an ATV in 4-wd all the time. After we rode the Rubicon it had enough features we liked we bought it. After 2700 miles and 310 hours, I still haven't seen the need to switch back and forth from 2-wd to 4-wd.
Just for me personally, there other things more important. The Rubicon has the most versatile trans in the industry. The Rubicon is a great work horse and a great ATV to do just about anything you want.
Have fun and enjoy what ever you get.
With your choice of low range, high range, ESP, and the D1 or D2 modes (a total of 25 different forward "gears"), you will have just the right gear to do anything you want at any speed.

Best Bet is to get a Rubicon and a Warn 424 kit. Very easy to install, and both will still be cheaper than the Rincon. maybe even get one for your present 450. I have one (424) and it works great.

The single biggest pain in the butt for me as regards perm 4wd is the turning circle size.
Farm use really shows up irritants in design.
The surfaces in use are very varied, almost as much as the uses themselves.
It's great when you need 4wd, but I would like the option to control it myself.
In the right set of circumstances, it can be downright dangerous,
missing a percieved turning point and the problem is further exacerbated when towing.
I will always buy Honda, although I'm annoyed that they refused to put Traxlok
on the Rubicon as standard kit, does anyone know why they didn't?
Aftermarket fitting for me where I live is NOT an option.
Thanks for your views.
