Rancher reving high in neutral

Default Rancher reving high in neutral

A friend of mine bought a used Rancher and when he shifts into neutral it starts reving high and gets higher if left sitting. When riding its fine till you shift into neutral ! Any ideas asto the problem and fix ? Thanks[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

Default Rancher reving high in neutral

Check for any looseness between the carbureter & the engine. It could be caused by a tiny air leak in the intake tract between them. Also, look for a crack in the intake boot.

Sounds like a vacuume leak. If not run some carb cleaner through it.
