Default 27 inch Rubicon Tires

Is anybody running 27 in. tires on their Rubicon? And if so do you need a lift kit?

You don't need a lift kit, but you will need a kit that relocates the bracket for the floor board. These are available from HighLifter, or you can make your own.

I run 27s and don't need a lift or fender kit on rubi, and motor will turn them with ease.

I ran 27 inch Blackwaters on my 450 ES then my Rubicon with no adjustments at all. They were great in the deep snows of Colorado. I use them now on my Rincon and ran them this year. I was very impressed with them on the previous two machines, then along came the Rincon, that was in another League altogather. Good riding.

The 27X10x12 with stock rims on the front in Gators will hit when you turn the bars all the way. The problem is with tires not all 27in. tires are the same size. Then with after market rims they are not the same off set as stock rims. So some 27in. work some do not it drives you up the wall fitting quads or bikes with tires anymore.

I should add that my 27 inch Blackwaters are 9 inchs wide, front and back. I found the taller, narrower tires ran better in the deep snow, up high on the mountain. The narrower tires went down in the snow and reached bearing, then getting new bite, went on. The wide tires would slip and slide around on top, making it a rodeo ride, with the rear end doing circles. Good riding.

I am having 27" Mud Bugs installed on my '01 Rubi tomorrow.
I saw one today with same set-up and it looked great.
No lift kit, no wheel spacers.
I did notice some wear on the inside left rear tire where it rubbed on the muffler heat shield.
The dealer told me they remove the heat shield , but I think I'll just notch it where the tires rubs.
27-10-12 front.
27-12-12 rear.
