I have ridden both honda and Polaris, and they both are great machines. i personally would go with teh Polaris because it a little sportier, and so on i jsut like it ,

The Rancher has a much better transmission than the expedition, i read an article that said that the transmission was not set up like it should have been, meaning that the lower gears were to close to each other and the top gears were to far apart. I would go with the Honda cuz it will outlast the polaris by a long shot and the expedition is not sportier.

Well, I was a former Honda owner and currently a Polaris owner. I can tell you this, the only reason that I went with Polaris was because of them being Automatic. My 500 Magnum has been great so far. I love the machine and the performance. I must say that if I wanted to go with a Semi-automatic, I would have stuck with the HONDA. They are unbeatably Reliable and Dependable (like someone said before). I was always a Honda Man and I would change back if the Rubicon is proven to be rock solid and well made.

As a Honda Rancher owner I can tell you for a fact that the rancher is one great machine and would recommend one to anybody and everybody that has interest in riding or that are currently not Honda owners.

Thank you for all of your input. What kind of price range have you seen the rangers at. I was told by my dealer he would sale it to me for 5000 dollars.

I read in the recent test of the Xpedition 325 also that it didn't have enough power for steep hills or, well, drag races. The Magnum 325 was also geared weird, even being an automatic. It's low gear was too low and high gear was too high. It seems to be like that on all of the new 325 machines, including Trailboss. In the recent shootout, Magnum 325 vs. Kawasaki Prairie 300, I found it interesting that the 290cc engine of the Prairie beat the 325 of the Magnum in the drag race, and the Magnum was 9 pounds lighter! They don't sound like they have the power for the steep hills I climb at our local ATV Park. The Rancher is a 350 (329), so it will have an advantage in power. There will be a shootout in the next issue of 4 Wheel ATV Action with the Rancher vs. the Big Bear 400 vs. the Xpedition 325. This will tell all. Plus, you can't beat a Honda's reliability. The Honda is a lot lighter, has more ground clearance, and the prices are competitive.
