I was just wondering proper break in period for my 300ex. The place ibought it from said just to ride it easy and not to brink it into the higher rpm's. I was just wondering if any of you knew a better way to break my quad in. Thanks

Ride it like your mad at it, just kidding…

Don’t get it hot. Avoid wide-open throttle, but don’t lug it. Avoid heavy crankshaft loads of any kind. Operate the engine at varying RPM. Shut the engine off and give it a chance to cool off frequently, especially when it’s very, very fresh and still real tight. Change the oil after several hours of operation for the first several oil changes.

burn 2 tanks of gas and keep it under 1/4 throttle for the first start opening it up on the next 2 tanks after4 tanks dump the oil and put new oil in and oil filter. After that rip it up. Also keep in mind about the post before this shut down the bike every45min-1 hr and let if cool for 15-20 mins that start it up again. OIL chaiging is the key to a long lasting motor. i change mt oil every 4 days of riding. Hope this helps
