Default rancher ES ?

I have a question. Can a original equipment foot shifter be put on the rancher ES instead of the one they give you for emergencies? I have a chance to get a rancher ES "dirt cheap" but I hate the electric shift and want to make it foot shift. I don't want to use the flimsy one they give you for backup. I want to put one on it like the standard foot shift model. Will the full floor boards interfere wiith the shifter? Thanks in advance.

No, i dont think so. The foot shifter is to be used for emergencies only i was told...I have a RancherES year 2001 over 3k miles on it and have had no problems with the electrical shift... go for it ES isnt bad at all.

i just want you to realize thats not a foot shifter. when your batteries die you still can start your quad. you still have to put in the key and turn it. yank the pull start and start it up. then take out the manual shifter put it into a gear by hand and leave it that way till you get home. your never suposed to shift while moving with the manual shifter. so as you can see its not ment to be a manual shift.

The manual shifter on the ES doesn not work the same as on the S.....if you lift the shifter to change gears it stays in that position....it doesn't pop back to the original position..so after you change gears a couple of times the shifter is just about sticking straight up in the air.....inconvenient i would think....it's meant to get you out of a jam....no more, no less.
