Hello, I woundered weather anyone here has had any experience converting the CR450F to a thumb throttle for use in a quad. The reason i ask, is because as standard the cr450 use's a push/pull cable system. I woundered what the procedure is for the conversion. Thanks in advance.

Check out terrycable.com they set up a cable for me to do the conversion. You basically eliminate the push cable and just have a pull, but the spring tension is high enough so that it returns just fine.

 

Cheers for that. I saw a similar conversion at the weekend but the bloke riding it was complaining about how heavy the throttle was, using a single cable. How do you find yours compared to a standard honda thumb throttle? How are you finding your Houser. I've seen a couple over here in the UK. They look like well made frames. The motor seems to slot in quite nicely too. I've got my 450 in a 400EX chasis. The 400ex fames pretty good really, and bits are readily avaliable. I fancied a Houser but, the prices over here in the UK are Crazy, the dealers just convert the dollars sign to pounds. A complete Houser 450 is around £15-17 Thousand in England. Still I've yet to see how mine holds up. Thanks again.

Personally, it seems fine, but I have been used to an FCR I had on my 440EX. So far so good with the Houser. It went together real well, and seems to be a nice setup.
