400ex front componets on a 300ex????
Yes the A Arms will fit on there, so will the shocks. BUT the shocks will be way to long, you will have a hell of atime getting them in there. Notice how much shorter the 300ex shocks are than the 400ex. 400ex shocks make it really tall, stiff, and narrow. 300ex shocks make it realy low, soft and wide. We did it on my buddies wifes ride and since she is 90# soaking wet, we left on the 300ex shocks and it actually works pretty good for her (not very good if you are much heavier tham 150). There is a company that makes a kit that uses a piece of channel to make noew shock mounts higher and wider (like the 400ex) you weld this channel to the frame, with a gusset and a jig they give you to fit it correctly. I don't know who it is. I could probaby find out. Let me know if you need me to. Someone like works could build you a set of shocks to fit that application. By the way 250R stock shocks arent short enought either.

I just did it. Pics in my gallery. I bought '88 250R A-Arms off ebay for $25 and they came with stock tie rods that screw into my ball joints like they belonged there, my branke lines were fine they come with a lot of slack in stock form. They bolted up effortless everything lined up perfect. My only problems were exactally what Sandneck said with the shocks, I'm still running stock length Works. It works OK but rides pretty low.

thanks for the info, I saw the adaptor plate on ebay, I'm gonna fab one up, shouldn't bee too hard. As for all the other pieces, she says she found a set of arms, rods, and shocks for 125, so I figure it should be worth it. Thanks for all the reply's, helped me out good.
