Default I have a choice to make????

I need help. In the next couple of days I will be trading my Recon for a bigger 4x4 quad. I've got it narrowed down to 3 quads, 2003 4x4 Kodiak 400, 2003 Big Bear 4x4 400, and a used 2002 Honda foreman es 4x4 450 (with locking differ.) Since i'm trading my recon I don't figure that I would get a good deal on a new one, The dealer has the 2002 Foreman with only 250 miles on it, and it seems to be a pretty nice quad. The dealer quoted me a price of $2,650.00 plus my 2000 recon, he is asking $4,900.00. I don't know what they would ask for difference for the Yamahas but I will probably will get a quote. I need to know what you guys think of this situation and what are your opinions on what would be the best deal for me???? Any help will be greatly appreciatted.

thanks,

I think you can always make a better deal with cash. Sell you old quad outright, and go from there. The Kodiak 450, has the diff lock feature too. I have to Grizz 660, with the diff lock, and would not get another quad without it. Good Luck

It is hard to say without seeing the Foreman. I also like to sell instead of trade. But if you get your mind set on the 2002 foreman then you probably won't have time to sell your Recon. Unless you can make a fast sale. I would take my time and look around more. There is always going to be more available. Trade in on the 2000 Recon is around $1800. Retail for the 2002 Foreman is about $5300. He gave you a price of $4900. ( Does this include everything? tax, tags, transfer, paperwork) WATCH THE ADD ON PRICES! They'll make it so they get your Recon for almost free. You have to pay an extra $2650. and they are allowing $2250. for your Recon. (they are allowing less if the $4900. price includes tax) Is the $4900. price what you got them down to or the tag price? Once again does it include tax or not? If it is the tag price then they could do a little better on it. I would say to consider it if the $4900. price is OTD. If it is not OTD then ask them exactly what all the extra charges will be. Tax alone on $4900.(tax on $2650.) brings the price up to $5059. Add on transfer, tags and filing cost. Some places add $80. for filing. You could be looking at a final cost of around $5199. If so, it doesn't hurt to offer them $2250. or $2300. and your Recon. The worst that could happen is that they'll say "no". Aim for $4900.OTD. If not the Foreman, then buy a Kodiak even though the Big Bear is priced less.
