I have learned to fly! Now what?

I have been practicing almost daily on my 2000 300 EX. Today I was jumping a 15 foot tabletop and everthing was going great untill I got enough speed to clear the whole thing. WOW landing a 300 from 15 feet in the air is a blast! But, the suspension sure does bottom out. I have my front shock set to the second fron tightest notch and the rear is still at the factory setting. I dont bottom the rear so I will leave it alone. I really dont want to tighten the front anymore because it gets pretty harsh. I am 210 lbs and I suppose I am pushing the limits of the suspension. Should I upgrade my front shocks? if so, what does everyone recommend? Or should I just live with it?

Hey man pretty impressive. I ride a 400ex and weigh about 275 and ride with my friend at our practice grounds. I haven't jumped a 15 footer yet but my 2 cents is put on a revalve or a new set of fronts. Works are pretty reasonible for the quality. That might be your best bet.

The 15 footer hurt! on average I can get 8 to 10 feet. It took a little courage to get that far since I have not ridden in 5 years until last March! I have been looking at works performance front shocks. They claim UP TO 2.5" more travel. That is exactly what I need!

i know what U mean I used to have a large table top (until my dad found it and rented a backhoe and tore it down) but anyway I jumped my 300ex daily to and I bottomed alot and I weigh only 130 pounds so I wasn't that hard on it my dads freind said I was getting about 15 foot of air. watch your exhaust for the caliper will come up and hit the exhaust and dent it. I wish I still had that jump for my 250r but oh well it was probably for the better. because I jumped my warrior on it and did a nosedive andflew over the bars. well remember ride red ride smart and ride HARD!!

I bottom the fronts on my 300 on about 8 feet of air and I weigh 160. From what I hear the 300ex shocks can't be revalved so I would recommend some works fronts and try to find a used rear shock. I am told that the dual rate steelers without reseviors will work MUCH better than the stockers and not bottom easily. Although if you race or something, they may fade a little.

hey 250Rman, its pretty nuts to hear of a warrior 15 feet in the air. I had a warrior with works dual rates and a custom axis rear. I never got mine up that high for fear of breaking the frame. But i did used to jump about 30 feet down a hill and bottom the front suspension out (stock). But if it makes you feel better a table top is a safer jump. thats all we have on our practice track and a few small doubles. 8-10 feet. Any way i gotta give it up to Tater300ex for have the the brass ones to go for something like that after a 5 year break.
