The heat shield on my Rancher has developed a nasty little rattle, which drives me crazy. I hate rattles!!! I was thinking about removing the heat shield and wrapping the exhaust header with heat tape. How does this tape hold up in the conditions an ATV is exposed to? Am I going to be peeling it off after the first ride through mud? Also, I thought about just removing the heat shield and leaving it. Any of you that have wrapped the header in tape see any changes in power because of reduced heat, or would it be a waste of time?
