Help with RIncon !!!!!
#21
My Rubicon was the best swimmer in town !
What a dissapointment with the Rincon in water after owning the Ruby. But is about to change now that I have it figured out.
The air intake gets suffercated after about 10 seconds or so in the deep stuff. With the seat off you can drive all day!!!!!!!!
So I guess I will have to extend the snorkel out from under the seat!
Anyone with a Rincon I can promise you that if you have carb vent lines ran up and you take the seat off you will get rid of that sputtering and dying !!!

ALL Rincon owners with no snorkels should this mod as soon as possible!" will explain tonight "
Well we have it figured it thanks to hours of testing with my Father and the Help of bryan"mecanic-owner" from Northbay cycle and sports!
The problem is when the bike is in deep water for about 10 seconds or more it starves for air because of the location of the air intake , the water ,when deep acts like a damm and the engine starves for air!
I will explain the fix and take pics of the very easy modifacation after tonight testing.
Thanks

The easy fix did not work!
With the seat on in dies , there is just to much steam !!!!!!!!!! The air intake is just soaked from the steam so it chokes up,take the seat off and you will have no problem.
What we ended up doing is running a mini snorkel, just in order to suck the air from a open area. I will send the pics I took,I dont find it looks as bad as I thought it would .
We are almost done , I will finish them Saturday .

i have the same problem in water and i'm no where even close to being as deep as you all. i get in the water and when i try and turn it cuts off. i've also had it cut off when riding
when i go up alittle hill or something and just let it roll down and when i touch/hit the gas it cuts off. i just figured it was due to it being new. my buddy has a 450s and he said his would cut off all the time until he broke it in and got some time on it
what kind of tires is everyone running? i'm thinking about getting some 26" mudlites for my rincon and would like to know what other rincon owners have too say thanks

I am done , and it is runs like a champ in the water.
There has also been no change in performance in anyway, the downfalls would be the looks and maybe the air filter would get dirtier faster.
If you would like some pics of the mod... leave me your email !
All you need for the mod.. is 6 inches of 2 inch hose from a shop vac... !
