I have a Rincon with c-series and 25 inch 589m/s. Great tires and wheels. I did lose power off the line and also top speed. I lost 6mph on the top end on flat ground. I think it can be attributed to the added weight. I weighed my stock wheels and tires. A total of about 44lbs. The itp's weigh about 84lbs. An extra ten lbs. per wheel. Larger ones will be heavier but may only affect off the line performance. But in muddy terrain, they do not compare and the trade off is worth it. But I think I will be on stock tires this summer as the trails are starting to dry up around here.

Don't let clearance be an issue. The 589 gives you plenty of room with no worries about rubbing. I just put a set of 27" 589's on y rincon. I lost 6mph on my top speed but that is about it. I would however recommend using these tires for only mud. They are not the best tire for dry conditions. That is why (like rinconq) I will be using my stock tires for dry times.

Here is an image of the 589's on the Rincon. Ignore the sepia filter, but the gap seen inbetween the front wheels and finder is about the same in the rear.

rinconq... what pressure do you run your 589's at? I have found that the front wheels seem pretty twitchy at high speeds and was wondering if pressure could be the cause.

I was running them at 2.5psi. But I will try 3.5 this weekend. 2.5 seems a little low but they are so stiff that it isn't too bad. I suffered no loss in ride quality at 2.5 either. But maybe at 3.5 I will get some speed back. Two weeks ago, I rode 140 mile in two days on those tires. Pedominantly dirt roads. I had a hard time keeping up with a sp500ho and a sp700 on flat or on inclines especially.

I have 589 m/s on my honda rancher and they are a great tire. yes you might lose a little speed but they make up for it in the mud pits and on the trails.

i'm looking at some 26" 589 m/s for mine. do alot of mud riding and of course trail riding to get to the mud holes. i am just conserned about power loss in the mud. how much does the power loss affect the rincon in the mud?

schef -- What is the width of your 589's. I have been running 9 inch Blackwaters all the way around on my Rincon, and really like them in deep snow. I have been thinking about the 589's or Mudlites to replace the three year old blackwaters. Good riding.

The front are 9 inches wide and 11 in the rear. The rear wheels stick out over the fenders quite a bit which makes mud rides a little messy, but I am happy with them.

how is the power loss on your rincon. i like the m/s but i just can't get over the difference in weight between them and the mudlitesi think it's right at 20 pds difference and i'm getting the itp c series rims with whatever i buy so that lightens it up a bit

The power loss it fairly noticeable during acceleration & top speed. I can't give you any sort of numbers on this but it is not too noticeable at all. I have noticed that my fan regularly comes on to keep the quad cool; where as it never did before. That is why I would not recommend the 589's for regular riding. They are more of a mud only type of tire. In hindsight, I should have probably gone with the mudlites myself, but I couldn't say no to the looks of the 589's.
