Camo fender covers
#1
I know this has been discussed before but it has been several months...
Has anybody installed camo cover on their ATV? I have a 4x2 2001 orange Rancher (probably should have bought a green one but I got this one for 3000$ and it has less than 25 hours --- good deal -- I think). .
I know there is the "canvas type" fender covers and the camp tape. What is the best to use and where do I get it??? Thanks for response!!!

I had the fabric Advantage ones on my red Big Bear, but it looked stupid over red so I put on green fenders. You are better off just buying green fenders for a little more money than the covers. Go to to your Honda dealership. They are not hard to replace by yourself.

I've gotten a lot of compliments on the fender cover that I've got on my Bayou. Moose Utilities Division makes them "cut and sewn to fit" specific ATV models. Although they call it a fendor cover kit. it covers every square inch of the ATV body including the front, back and gas tank.
Not sure if Moose in still making them the same way however. My Bayou cover is held in place by snaps that replace the screws that hold the plastic on the frame. I recently purchased one of their covers for my '92 TRX 300 and noticed it only used velcro straps. That probably makes it easier to install since you don't have to remove the original screws and replace them with the snap-headed screws that came with my Bayou cover.
If you go this route, I recommend the woodland camo pattern since it's a lot cheaper than the brand name Advantage and Mossy Oak patterns.

THe Moose ones for the Big Bear used plastic hooks that hooked on the edge of the fenders. Mine got faded, a two hook tore off Although the actual fabric never tore. THe worst thing is that mud got trapped b/w the plastic an fabric. Since yours is orange you will have the same problem that I had. Orange will be seen around Gas cap fender posts etc. any place where the cover goes around something and worse yet the red wheelwells looked hideous. I eventually took camo tape and covered all the rep on top and i was gonna paint the fenderwells but I thought the hell with it I paid $200 for factory green fenders and it was timetaking but flawless swap. I paid $125 for the cover I think. I recomend pricing green fenders stickers from your Honda dealer. If your ever decent at hands-on projects it'll take you 2-4 hrs and if your plannin on keeping youll be alot happier with the results. Better yet, I am not familiiar with Ranchers but see if they ever had a Special Edition camo and buy those replacements.
