Larger Tire Chains
#1
Hey,
Anyone know of a place that would offer tire chains for 27" tires? I've checked most of the usual places and it seems that 25"s is the max available. I don't need them right away, but they'd sure make pulling the ole' ice shanty easier.
Thanks for any info.
Mike

I cut down a couple sets of car tire chains for my Prairie.
Buy the longest chains you can get that are right for width and you get a number of spare cross links.
For my chains I put a cross link on every other side chain link rather than on every fourth link as they come stock. Gives a lot more traction. I also prefer the "V" bar ice chains.

Thanks for the tip! I guess I will have to break down and get a set now, it sure is alot easier on the pocketbook than the $200 air that ronnies mail order has for 27"ers.
thanks again
