Default Spring turkeys, OH YEAH!

The 12 year old and I are heading north tonight, we both have turkey permits for this week. It's his first attempt, I suppose we'll see what kind of guide I am. We go to my brothers place, 70 acres near Wausau, WIS. We'll take one of the wheelers along, so the boy and his cousin can tear it up. Wish us luck see you all on sunday.

Good luck, I have a drawed hunt tomorrow thru saturdy but probably won't get to go because work. I have got one bird earlier this year so that soothes the pain of not getting to go on my drawed hunt.

I live in Pa, and they had a Jr hunt day for anyone 16 and under. It was my last year to be able to go, since I am going to be 17 this year. I saw a bunch of birds, and passed up 2 jakes, so I cant wait till tomorow to try and nail the big one!

Came home empty handed! Heard gobbling every morning, once they came off the roost they shut then disappeared. We were both lucky enough to have drawn two tags each, we will go again in three weeks.

Went back out again today. Didnt see anything. They were gobbleing everywhere though. I had one coming in, but he wanted me to come to him, and wouldnt come any closer. Would have stayed out later but had to get back to the house to start school

Almost the same thing happen to me this morning. I just knew he was coming! Gobbled to everything I did. I set up about 100 yards from him, but when he flew down he went the other way. As I was leaving I heard him gobble again twice over the next ridge, but I had to leave to get to work.
