Default Hawkeye 300 vs Prairie 360

I have done a bunch of research on the 2006 Hawkeye (yes I have read all the stuff in these forums) and the Prairie 360. This machine is going to be for my wife and she doesn't want a real big machine. The Hawkeye weighs about 50 pounds less and the real difference is in the dimensions. Its quite a bit smaller than the Prairie all the way around. I would prefer to get her the Prairie, and I found a great deal on a camo one, but I think she is going to be happier with the Hawkeye. She sat on it and really liked the smaller frame. She hasn't sat on the Prairie yet.

What do you all think?

I have rode the 06 hawkeye (300) and a 07 prairie (360) the prairie is such a more comfortable ride, than the hawkeye, its bigger, easy to handle. its a very pleasent bike to ride, the prairie also has more power than the hawkeye. The hawkeye is very simular to the prairie, but its smaller and dosent ride as smooth as the prairie, wether your looking for power, smooth riding, handling, or size, the prairie has all the advantages,................ yes the prairie is a bigger bike but she (your wife) will be able to adjust to the prairie just as easly as the hawkeye. If you get a chance to test drive one, let me know what ya think, she will love the praire.

my aunt owns a 05 prairie, she loves it, ...... i almost bought one my self but insted i got another bike.

I have the 06 2wd Hawkeye. I am 6'4, it will haul me everywhere. The hawkeye has much better engine braking than its big brother the Sportsman. I even like it better for hill climbing. So much torque. Its not a speed demon. It will hit 45, but dont be in a big hurry to get there. It has been rock solid so far, since I bought it last year. Its just too small for me to ride, on long hauls. My wife really likes it. Its easy to get around, my handicapped father rides it all the time. He has no mucsles in his stomach, due to multiple surgeries, and can not ride a solid rear axle machine. My Sportsman 500 is too big for him to handle because of his parkinsons disease. He would not let me trade the Hawkeye for anything. I have not been on a Prairie, so I can not tell you anything about it, but I would highly recomend the Hawkeye. It is a stump puller, easy to manuver and a nice comfortable ride.
