6 monthes and I was waiting and looking and then I said to myself "self "!

To get to the smiley faces, and a few other options that are different, you'll need to click on User CP in the upper left hand corner of the page. Then, click on Edit Options. Scroll down to the last section, Miscellaneous Options. On the drop down options, choose Enhanced Interface.
You'll get the smilies, as well as being able to post pics you have on your computer.
