New here! Never used one of these things before

Hi, I'm new here and am having a problem with my 06 rancher 400 at. Ive had it for 3 year and use it only for hunting. I had the control motor short out last summer. I replaced it and did not go through the initiate procedure. This summer it failed again. The same thing blowing the fuse. I replaced it in June and this weekend it shorted out again(blown fuse). I ordered a new control motor again. When it shorted this weekend I had only been driving for 10 or 15 mins at about 12 to 13 mph. The control motor was to hot to touch when it blew the fuse. Any ideas?
