Default 2002 polaris 500

Hello, I'm new to the sight. I'm looking for a little technical help. On my 2002 Polaris 500 sometimes when the bike is cold and I put it in reverse, it feels like the 4x4 is engaged because the wheel pulls hard to the left. When I put it in drive it straightens out and acts normal. I jacked it up off the ground with 4x4 in off position...both back wheels and left front wheel turns. When I turn it back on...all 4 wheels turn. Is this normal?
