Hello from FL... Help me pick an ATV
Hey Guys...
I've never owned an ATV but want one.
PRICE is my main concern and I need to buy used.
I need something to ride around. Hunting, shooting, riding. I plan on staying in flat sandy Florida. No snow, no big hills, etc.
I'm 6'5 320, so I'm no little guy
All the mechanical work will be done by me. I've never had an ATV, but I've owned boats, jetskis, cars, jeeps, etc and do all that work myself.
Any suggestions on what to look for and what to stay clear of? (no, I won't buy a used Chinese no-name machine!). Again, price is my main problem right now but I can always sell/trade to something better later. I just need something that can get out on the thin paths and ride around a little bit.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. Machines that are full sized include Yamaha Grizzlies, Suzuki King Quads, Kawasaki Brute Force, Can-Am Outlanders, and Polaris Sportsman ATVs. Hondas are more of a mid-sized machine. Arctic Cats are also full-sized machines. I think 500 class machines are about the best all around quads personally. Good mix of power and fuel economy with good towing and toting characteristics.
Most modern quads are decent. Polaris tend to have the most comfortable ride. Can-Ams have the most power per cc. Yamaha and Suzuki both make all around good machines. Kawasaki doesn't really have a 500 class machine but has 650 and 750 cc Brute Forces. Hondas are considered to be most reliable.
