squirrely driving
#1
I have a 1996 sportsman 500 and when I get to 20 mph or above and especially at higher speeds and only on dirt it gets so squirrely driving it that it is dangerous. I have checked the toe in and have it set up as close as I can get it to what the manual says. 1/8" to 1/4" toe out. I just want to know what makes it steer like that. Is it from being toed in too much or toed out too much? I would appreciate any help on this!

Welcome! On future questions ask in the Polaris section. Do you have a lot of left/right slack from handle bars to the wheels? Does plastic holder where the steering post mounts worn/sloppy? Could be that or could be worn tie rod ends.Plus a lot of tire sealant can cause problems at high speed.
