Default 450 foreman ticking noise

Hey guys I have a Honda 450 foreman, I just bought and noticed there is a ticking noise in the engine. When buying the bike i was told the valves needed to be set and the noise would go away. I got the valves set and the noise is still there. I think it might be the timing chain. How much would it cost to get a new one and get it put in the bike? How many hours would it take to put a new one in? I really want to go riding but do not want to mess something up.

I don't think a worn timing chain will make a ticking sound, if the tensioners are worn, you'll get a rattle kinda like a diesel. It could be normal, just the compression release device on the cam. To ease your mind, send a sample of the oil after 100 miles or more to Blackstone. Here is a sample from my Arctic Cat, first sample was Mobil 1 , second was Rotella T6 after a race cam.
