Hi Im Bonnie and Im new to this stuff I have a 2007 honda 500 automatic

 

my grand daughter was riding the honda and stopped it to get off and left it in 3rd gear, shut it off, how can we get it back to neutral to start it? turned it on and rocked it back and forth pushing the up and down arrows but it didn't kick out of gear to neutral. any help out there for fixing this? thanks
